Airborne biological hazard assessment against ACGIH TLVs, Dutch Health Council guidance, and WHO standards
How to use
Select an agent, enter the measured airborne concentration, then switch between agents to enter additional results. All entered values are retained as you switch. The summary table and RPE recommendation update automatically.

Endotoxin TLV-TWA (90 EU/m³) is a formal ACGIH limit (2020 TLVs & BEIs, inhalable fraction). All other values are guidance-based: no formal TLV, PEL, or REL exists in any jurisdiction for total bacteria, total fungi, Aspergillus fumigatus, or (1,3)-β-D-glucan. Sampling and analytical method significantly affect measured concentrations — consult NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods (NMAM) or ISO 16000 series for method selection.
How to use
Use this tab when no sampling data is available. Select the work setting, task type, daily duration, and existing engineering controls to obtain a qualitative exposure zone estimate and recommended actions. This is a screening tool only — it does not replace quantitative measurement where exposures may be significant.

Zone estimates are based on a qualitative scoring matrix derived from published AIHA, ACGIH, and UK HSE frameworks for bioaerosol risk assessment. They represent expected exposure potential, not measured concentrations. Where Zone 3 or Zone 4 is indicated, quantitative personal sampling is strongly recommended before relying on existing controls.
